Yaya is a lamp that pays tribute to the Sardinian matriarch, authoritative and wise woman, surrounded by a mystic and religious aura, active worker, guardian of the hearth and skilled weaver. The strong relationship between the Sardinian woman and the act of weaving is an indication of the reason why wool has been used as the main material for the lamp.
The body is made of iron and the source of the light (which is hidden by Yaya’s curved spine) is a row of Led. Modernity and memories coexist in an object made with essential lines and typical natural products.
Yaya was awarded first place at the “pura lana sarda” competition hosted by the province and CNR imibet of Sassari.
